It's amazing how frustrating sewing can be sometimes. I worked for nearly an hour on a skirt and had to toss it because of horrible tension issues and a dirty bobbin case (I didn't have a clue!) and it caught in my bobbin and tore! I was so upset. I took out my bobbin and bobbin case, cleaned it out adjusted my tension and tried again. This time I decided to try something much easier in case I had an epic fail again- a pillowcase dress. I had some dinner napkins I put away for a future project and decided that now was the time to use them. This perfectly fits my 17 month old and I have room to grow too. I can envision it with pretty leggings when she is about 3.
This was much easier
than the average pillowcase dress. I took 2 table napkins (18x18
inches), and left a 6 inch gap for the arms. Since there was already a hem I didn't have to stitch in the sides or add bias tape. I stitched the top down 2
inches and pulled a pretty red ribbon through. I bought a set of 4
napkins for 2 dollars a while back at a thrift store and the ribbon was
$1 on clearance! Only $2 for this dress!!! I also pick up bloomers every chance I get and got a cute red pair a while back at Goodwill for 50 cents!
